My '03 started life with a standard overhead console, then had an aftermarket sunroof installed. In order to retain the compass and temp display, the installers simply cut the console about two inches from the display, and covered the remaining portion with headliner material.

I'm planning to remove the partial console, and install the correct stock sunroof console.

I'm hoping someone has (or will take) pictures of the consoles removed so I can see how each mounts.

There is one screw that mounts the whole counsel to the roof It is at the farthermost point towards the windshield.

There are numerous forum posts and youtube videos showing how to remove the console. In a few of those videos you can still frame the video to see what the roof structure and headliner look like.

 

I actually tore into it tonight. Getting the factory sunroof console to fit is going to be interesting. I did get the existing console display working in the meantime, though.
