Default Overhead console with EATC vs. Without - Will it work?

I have a 2002 F150 Supercrew Lariat with EATC. My overhead console doors have broken. I will probably just replace the whole thing. But...

MY overhead console has ONLY A COMPASS. The indoor and outdoor temperature are shown in the EATC display in the dash.

The Overhead consoles I see online have displays that have BOTH COMPASS AND TEMPERATURE.

My question is, since my truck shows temperature in the dash, if I use the overhead console that has temperature AND compass, will it display the temperature? IN other words, if I use one like that will I get outside temperature on the overhead console AND the dash?

Just curious....

Well, I have a thermocouple, but you are saying it may just be run to the EATC and not the overhead?
