Default Overdrive Servo Replacement

I have a ‘01 F150 4x4 with the 4R70w transmission. I believe the overdrive servo snap ring broke. It shifts fine til overdrive then it’s like neutral.

My question is can replace the servo without having to drop the valve body? Or is there a write up or how to about changing the servo out?

I believe you must remove the valve body, otherwise there is no access to the servo and the accumulators.

Watch this... He talks about the snap ring around the 2 minute mark:

Yes, you can do it in the truck. You have to be careful because the OD band likes to come undone when you pull the servo. This is the best video I have found to show you the issue, and how to make sure you're not pulling it back apart again.

Will the check ***** in the valve body drop or stay in place?
