My shifter OD cap was missing when I got the truck. I found one in LMC as well as ebay. Looks like I have to buy the whole thing instead of just then end cap.

How involved is it to take it out and replace? And directions?

Drop the lower panel under the steering wheel - seperat the upper and lower halves of the shell around the steering column. With a small punch drive out the pivot pinon the shifty leve - disconnect the wire and ya got it.

I have only seen a few 97-03's that still have that cap. Mines been missing and it bugs the hell out of me.
