I have a 2003 F150. The overhead consol has two doors. The front is obviously for sunglasses. The rear door I think is for a remote control. Is there replacement door that will have a button built into the door that will hit the remote mounted inside? If so, where can I find one?

There's Lego like pieces that snap in and make it tall enough to touch the button and the remote just velcro's in. If you do it right you should be able to just push up on the little door and it will trip the remote. Mine was mint when I got the truck but some of my stupid friends lost my "Legos" so I have to find some way to get it to work again.

 

On my 2003 with the overhead console, I removed the door for the remote along with the Lego pieces. I found a similar door on eBay (from a Mountaineer) which is an actual Homelink garage door opener setup from the factory. It has the three buttons and the transmitter unit built in. It was the exact same size and snapped right in. I'm not sure but maybe the Explorers had the Homelink also.

I painted the door to match my gray trim and installed the new door, picking up power for the transmitter unit from the overhead console. I've had it installed now for over 7 years and have had no problems.

Sure beat the F150 setup of only being able to have one remote unit in the console. I now have three buttons, two of which I have programmed for our garage doors.
