Default Outside Temperature Display

Hi. I have a 2000 Lariat and the outside temperature display worked fine when I bought it last year but does not work properly anymore. It shows very high temperatures that are not right. Does anyone know what the problem might be or can it be repaired? Thanks.

Based on my experience with those devices, it is the electronic temp sending unit, so you will need to find it and replace it. It could also be a short of some type at the sender but you will also need to find the sender for that.
This is why I hate all that fancy electronic crap in vehicles, just give me a simple truck or car with a good set of analog gauges, and I am very happy. My sister had her electronic dash replaced on her newer car after it went out, and it cost her $1,200.00. Guess that's another reason why I love my "old" 97 F150.

Its the temp sensor under the hood. Easy repair.
