Default Outside door lock

The past couple days I can hardly get my door open on the outside. When I go to turn the key to the right to open it, it won't go to the right like it's stuck. I have to sit there and mess with it for minutes before it will turn. Anyone have this problem or have a solution? I hate having the power door lock bulge in my pocket so I'd rather not have that option.

Never had that problem but it sounds like either the linkages to the handle and lock mechanisms are hangin up bent or broken or you need to lube that ish up... graphite lube the lock cylinders (it's a powder that works great!! for lock cylinders) then pull the door panel, inspect the linkages and fix/lube with white lithium if needed...

Sounds like graphite lube will be your fix...

If you have a second key, does it act the same way? Tracka96

Maybe worthwhile to get one cut at the hardware store just to see what happens. Good to have a spare door key anyhow. Tracka96

same thing happened to our 1999 ranger. over time both locks became more and more difficult to turn. pulled both locking cylinders and brought them to a locksmith.
sprayed some kind lube like a7x was talking about and didn't charge us. you probably don't even need to pull them out they can probably do it with the cylinders in the doors still.

Well I found out if I turn it to the left, then right a few times it's a tad easier, but still doesn't feel right. Atleast I can get it open for now, hope it doesn't get worse.
