On my 1998 F150 single cab long bed my 4wd actuator doesnt push the transfer case all the way in..i assume this is from ware and tare of offroad..but the previous owner who tried to jump a ditch and came up short replaced it twice before me..so is the transfer case out of alignment and thus burning through 4wd actuators?

 

That would required the transfer case itself to be warped, which would cause much more problems that actuators burning up. Could be a wiring problem or something worn out inside.
