Default Ordered an Edge Evolution programmer!

Hopefully I will be getting it in a couple days. I wanted to make my speedometer accurate again and adding power/mpg is definitely a bonus!

If you ever decide you want to get some custom tunes made for it you can send it in to Bill at gopowerhungry.com and he can rebadge it and write some custom tunes for you based on any aftermarket parts you have on your truck. I have my Gryphon on the way and now that my truck is fixed I can't wait to get it.

Well I got the programmer in. Had a question about it though. It says not to use the performance setting (highest setting) for towing. Is that because of the way it tunes the transmission? If so I have a manual so it doesn't really matter. Just wondering if I can use the performance setting for towing, it would be a nice boost of torque for that if I could use it lol.

just use the towing tune. It will add torque and is designed exactly for towing...kind of confused why you wouldnt just do that...

On a side note were you able to input your tire size?

If you look at the dyno sheets that Edge provides for this application, the performance tune adds more torque and hp across the whole powerband. So if the transmission is the only reason why not to use the towing tune, then I might as well use the performance tune and get the extra power for towing.

Sadly I was not able to put in the tire size. There is a disclaimer in the instructions that only certain types of speedometers in the 98's can be adjusted and I do not have one of them. It has to have a digital odometer and even then only some of them can be tuned. So if you have a 97 or 98 and are hoping to tune for tire sizes, you may not be able too. 99 is the first year of this grouping where all trucks can be tuned for oversized tires.

Ya, you can put in different tire sizes. You have to pick your tune and then it will ask you if you want to custom tune it. You have to do it that way. ANy questions, let me know, I've had mine for like 2 years. You can do all kinds of stuff with it!
