Default Order of operations - what to fix first

Need to replace upper control arm, lower ball join and front shock absorbers on my 1998 V6 F150 with 220m miles. I want to do all at the same time (day). Which should I do first? Upper arm, or the shocks? Appreciate any ideas.

Take the shock out first.... then do the control arms and ball joints and put the shock in last. Reverse the process in other words.

Default Thanks

That was my initial thought. Get the pressure off the the suspension, then get to work. Thanks.

Your pressure from the bottom is coming from the torsion bars.... I always keep something under it - a jack or jack stand (while still supporting the frame).

I probably do overkill, but that's how I roll, lol. The screw shaft jack stands are great for stuff like this.... they are really precise.

I did the upper arms and shocks last year and the lower ball joints this past week. Using the jack on the lower arm is a must. It's all just parts that bolt together, though, so take your time and mark your spots on the upper arms to keep the camber close. Have fun.

Or.....just put washers exactly back where came from when tightening bolts. Outlines were there. Mine drove exactly same, no pulling. Got it aligned 2 wk later, but it was pretty close.

If u have previous lifetime alignment , no need to tell shop you replaced front end parts
