What would you say to do underneath, POR 15 then ziebart, or just ziebart, and fyi when I say ziebart I mean just rustproofing. U say it wouldnt last long, do you think it would make a few years before I redo it. Plus I would have ziebart respray each year and I keep all my stuff in perfect condition with lots of care. Sorry I wrote so much, just want to know before I spend money.
Are there any bubbles anywhere? And with the rust I saw on the bottom of the ved, you'll have to replace the sheet metal

Yeah, some bubbles. Do u really thing sheet metal needs replacing, it must be strong still cuz there arent any holes thru anywhere. I was thinking ziebart rust proofing, then after more thinking, im now thinking sand it down put on POR 15, then bedliner to cover all those areas. Then after that do ziebart rustproofing to keep that area ok and prevent anything else from rusting., what do you think.

Hard to tell until you get into it. But chances are as soon as you start grinding or sanding the rust, it'll break through

And bubbles will need fixed too. I think you could find a lot cleaner truck for the money. Even if you have to travel

Not all 5.4s plugs break thats only on the 04+ not 97-03

The rust under the bed will definitely need new metal if you don't want it showing on the inside of the bed in less than a year. I just fixed what looked like surface rust on the bottom inside door of a silverado near the weep holes. By the time I was done grinding the rust away there was a 1 1/2 hole right through to the outside. My point is its always worse than it looks.

That's what happened to my buddies rockers. The paint was just bubbled and now there's holes

Shocks look original too. That's another 200 bucks for new shocks.

Its red, has the 4.6, has another 20thousand miles, and looking from the side, the undercarriage is rusty as hell. Not trying to be a jerk at all, so please dont be offended, just telling what i see. And to everyone, I just got off the phone with the seller. He said his bottom dollar is 8500 which is 700 less than asking, I guess tires arent as bad as I thought, they're at about 50%. As for the rust, he sayz he had a quote from a ford dealer for the rear bed for a little over 100 bucks, and i think he is right. So, that just leaves underneath. Im supposed to look at/test drive it sunday, so ill see how bad the bottom really is, rather than looks. Im hoping it just looks worse because the paint bubbled and I can give it a light sanding, and POR 15, and for the heck of it some bed liner over that and call it good. Again let me know what you guys think.
