I've never been left on the side of the road in one. Don't have maintenance problems. They run forever. I've owned nothing but Ford trucks since 1984. Never had one not hit 180,000 miles on the clock. Had one hit 325,000 before I got rid of it. Drive good. You can abuse the snot out of them and they keep going. Haven't found a place yet I couldn't get to off road in one, unless it's straight up a cliff.
I don't.
My last Ford had a transmission that took a crap, broken band. This current one had the transmission replaced 1 year before I got it. Had to replace the front suspension in both of them before 120k.
My dad and bro both have Chevy's that get better mpg and less issues than my trucks at the same mileage.
My Chevy's and even an Oldsmobile were less $/mile than my Fords.
Edit: If I blow a spark plug I swear to god I will bring it to the dealer and tell them to fix it, then give me what it's worth off of a new Chevy or Dodge.

All my family has ever driven was Ford trucks so when it was time for a truck that's all there was in my eyes lol I think they're the best looking trucks, usually have the best motor/trans/suspension combo's, maybe not the best motor, or trans, or suspension out of the big three, but the best put together combo. Dodge and Chevy seems to have one thing they do well, but Ford has the best all around truck.
I don't favor Ford by any means, I just happen to come across my F150 on Ebay within driving distance and bought it. So far it's turned out to be a good truck, 1 owner, low miles and pretty damn clean and it's paid for (that's the best part). I would like to have a newer body style F150 but since this one is paid for and it's clean truck I think I will keep it for a while. However, if I were to buy a brand new truck right now, it would be a brand new Dodge Ram 1500 CC 4x4, sorry but those are just some sweet truck IMO.
I drive Fords because, I worked for all 3 major manufacturers in parts and service in my years in automotive. I found, by far, Ford had the best warranty coverage (GMC was second...not Chevy). Chrysler (Dodge) was a total failure in warranty. We could never get parts, customers always unhappy, etc. When I worked for a full line GM dealer, GMC by far was their best warranty brand, but it wasn't nothing to write home about. I changed jobs and went to a Ford dealer. What a difference. All warranty was done in a concise manner, as quickly as we could get the parts from Ford, they were installed. We had problems when people had their vehicles, and their parts would sit and sit on the shelf. They couldn't or wouldn't come in, and their part finally either got returned or sold. Of course, as soon as you got rid of the part the customer would call and show up. It is hard to keep everyone happy. Sure Ford had their repeat customers, but I'd say that most of them, really didn't have a real problem. Maybe a small item that they would blow up to a major fiasco, but all in all, personally I liked the Ford system so much better than GM or Chrysler. It was just better for the customers in general. JMO.
