Default open diff or trac lock

is it possible that my truck is an open diff? 99 f150 4.6 auto 2wd?
I ran an oasis and it shows it to be a non trac loc. I dunno why but I figured that all the f150s would be a trac loc.
Says 3.08 gears too. Figured the trucks wouldn't have airplane gears. Atleast a 3:31 or 3:73, or something deeper for pulling.

well not exact on these figures but i got an estimate.

i put $20 got me like 5.17 gallons , i think.
drove the truck till i was affraid she was gonna run out of fuel, or as close to it as i could!

Was like 77 miles or so. So i figure there was more fuel in there and just estimated it to 80 miles on 5.17 gallons so thats like 14mpg. I figure itmight get 16 or so on a completely honest figure.

That's what I'm getting in my 4x4 w/3:73LS after adding a tuner, 14 mpg before.

so ya think a 3.73 should pick up the fuel milage. I know 4.10s in my 97 mustang upped the city mpg, but highway sux now. Thats why I might just leave the 3.08s in the truck since if we go out of town it will be in the truck, cause there just isnt room in a convertible mustang gt for a family and luggage.

I only go 4 miles to work at a average speed of 40 mph so the 3:73 works good for me. Yea, I would leave it alone too.
You reminded me of the days of putting 2 little boys in the back of a 88 GT and a 93 GT. That's why I have a 4 door truck now cause they are 6'1" and 6'4".

well I traded my 90 lx 5.0 for this truck. I got a hell of a trade. I needed a truck and its a scab so I got 4 doors and a back seat!
Throwing a 7 year old and a 10 year old girls in the back and me and the wife in the front of the 97 gt convertible isnt feasable anymore. Worked for 2 years or so. I didnt want to get rid of the 97 cause its a great car. Great for the wife to drive to work . So now I guess I get my cake and eat it to now.
