I took a picture of the light housing. It looks like the more common style based on comments here and other things I have read. I feel comfortable that the light is sorted. I only have to decide on chrome or black.

About the tick. I took a flashlight and my mirror on a stick and inspected the exhaust manifolds. I found a broken stud at the front bottom of the passenger side. It looks like it has been broken for some time. It was not shiny at the break. I do not hear the tick when I put the stethoscope on the manifold at that spot. I am still not sure. I faintly hear the sound when I put the scope on metal near the idle pulley. Is that the cover of the timing chain? The truck needs a new belt. I have thought about running the truck for a couple of mins without the belt to eliminate everything belt driven unless you guys tell me that is a crazy idea.

Yup, that's the "new" style light that you can easily buy.

With your almost full chrome bumper, the all chrome would look good, but since your debating painting/changing it, I would go with the black.

I am going to see a body shop about the paint tomorrow. I want to talk about tires. A few of you mentioned 265's and 285's. I like the sound of wider tires. I don't really want the tires to come out past the fenders. Do you have any pictures of your truck with these tires? Let me see em. I like looking at trucks. How about bigger rims? Do you guys have 17's 18's or what? Do you have to reprogram the computer so that speedometer reads correctly?

With 37s my speedo is only off by 4-8 mph depending on speed. Won't have to adjust

You still can adjust it though. It's not too complicated. You just need to take the cluster out and take the plastic housing apart and recalibrate it while you're at a speed and use a gps to check when you're at that speed.

So it sounds like the speedometer will not be too far off. I don't intend to try and put 37's on it. I am not sure what size I will end up with. The tires on it are still in fine shape so the wheels and tires will likely be the last things. I need the study up on wheel offset and such. I don't want to make a mistake when I do order bigger wheels and tires. I have looked at wheels on line. I seem to like the 5 or 6 spoke variety, black with a little chrome. They look good.
