Oil pressure gauge fluctuation
Can someone test the diagnostic menu and see what reading they get?
When I run the diagnostic by holding the trip/odo and turning the key, the gauge test has them all going up and down smoothly. When I get to the oil part, it shows 255 when the truck is not running and 000 when it is running. What numbers do you show ON Vs. OFF? I have read most people get 000 both on and off.
My gauge starts to move back and forth a little bit like 1/8" after about 10-20 minutes of driving. It never gets to low and throws the light or anything. I know the gauge is a dumby ON/OFF switch and is not designed to do this so I believe it is indeed the sender switch. I have a new one just need to put it in.
Do I need to drain the oil before I do it? Dont want an oil shower in the face. Dont think I need to though, not sure.
Really interested in those Diagnostic numbers though!
THANKS!
