Default Odometer & Trip meter not working

I already replaced the worm gear that goes on the motor inside the cluster but when I tested it nothing moved. Anyone know what else it could be?

My bad I forgot to mention it. It's a 1997 f150.

I have a blinking trip meter on a 2000 going in/out. It's been doing it for yrs. No mechanic is interested in repairing it.

I don’t blame them. It’s not that tough a job to pull the cluster out and dab a shot of solder on the joint that needs it. I admittedly need to do this, but it only ghosts on me during our rare chilly season.

OP sounds like he’s got a 97-98 analog cluster and that sounds trickier. There is a motor that drives those gears. That could have bit the dust. Hate to waste the effort of changing gears, but hit a yard and get a “new” cluster. May as well swap those gears over, too.

Yeah I have the analog instrument cluster so I guess I'll have to look for another cluster to hopefully fix the issue. Thanks guys!
