OBD codes
Hello, using an OBD connector, Forscan, and my pc, I pulled some codes on my 1999 F150 XLT automatic 4.6L 124k miles: .
B1428 -- if sitting without the seat belt on, the light is lit
B1450 -- wiper selector switch? wiper controls work fine
B1318 -- didn't see what that is
B0500 -- vss circuit open (sounds like I need to replace the VSS on the differential) My tranny bucks a little on slight inclines about 30 mph
B1352 -- ignition key in circuit (because I was sitting there with the key on to run the test?)
B1462 -- Drivers safety belt (again maybe because I was sitting there with no seat belt attached)?
It also said 'suspect pcm'
This is all a new foreign language to me, I'm old school backyard mechanic. Any thoughts?

Most of the codes that are shown can be the cause of a bad cell in a battery. As far as the B0500 could be a bad wire or defective VSS itself. How old is the battery? You can read 14v or more idling, but that just shows that your alternator is working correctly, so suspect the battery. Does the power go down overnight or after a few hours of sitting? Have you checked the voltage when shutdown, then check it again a few hours again, without starting. Your battery should be very close to the voltage that it showed when you shut it down. If it is off .2 or more, you either have a bad cell in the battery, or that you have major draw
It's a Napa 65 month battery replaced Sept 2014. It sounds good when going to start it. The vehicle does sit for a week or two since it's winter and I'm driving my 4 wheel drive more. I have not checked it's voltage or anything about it. The biggest problem is that tranny hunting for a gear, summer or winter. Maybe I should replace the VSS, approx. $12, then remove the battery cable for ten minutes and then reconnect it -- and drive it around a little and then recheck for codes. I've seen posts that the VSS could cause the tranny to hunt -- my speedometer works as it should. Thanks for the help, thoughts?
Edit, does anyone have a link to decipher all or most of those codes for the F150.

I'd certainly check the transmission shifting as a priority. These transmissions cost too much to repair or replace because of a simple 12 part. Definitely see if the VSS is your problem. If it still gives you shift problems, run the wiring from the VSS and make sure that nothing is bare, cut or damaged in anyway. Hopefully it is the sensor, and you will get that part done. Below are two sites for the codes. The first is the B codes, and the second is the OBDII P series codes for Ford. Good luck.
