Default OB2 code P1000

I've had a p1000 code for over a year now. I didn't have this code till I hooked up my Edge Evolution. The code went away 3 or 4 times but came back within a few hours. I downloaded the directions on how to run the thing through the paces and complete the test cycle but shoudn't it just finish the test with normal driving? Does anyone have any ideas on what makes it come back on after it clears. Would following these direction to the letter clear this and keep the computer ready any different than just nomal driving. I have more than 12,000 miles on it and I'm tired of seeing the cel.

How's your battery? Do your gauges max/sweep when you start the truck?

Mine did the same thign with all edge programmers. I switched to a Livewire, and have not had a issue with the P1000 since.

new battery and the guages sweep when I turn the key on. First the Edge doesn't work on my truck because it's early build date 97 and the Edge wont work with the ecu then I swap a ecu from a later build date 97 and this problem. I really didn't see all the performance and fuel savings everyone raves about but it did lighten my wallet some. I need to get a better programmer.
