Default Is this normal? 2-3 Questions

When i turn ignition ON. (not engine start)
the Fuelpump runs ti build up Pressure.

but after several seconds, i hear Clonk from the axle area (i think).
1. Is this normal?

and when i start the Engine, the rpm rises to about 1300 stays there for a couple of sec. and decreases to 800 (about) and stays at this idle speed.

2. But is it normal that rpm is in the first couple of sec. much higher than idle?!

and when i select Reverse oder D then the rpm decreases to about 600rpm
(My Volvo does this not, he holds the rpm no matter what load turned on)

Yeah you're all normal. When i started running marine two stroke oil i can barley hear the clonk any more. I'm pretty sure its something with the fuel pressure components.

ok, but is it good to hear the clonk or not.?

and the thing with the Rpm is also normal?!

(i'm unsure, because, its the first US-Car we have)
(and i'm loving it, to pass a BMW X3 driver who is thinking his car is big ;-) )

I'm not sure about the noise your hearing, but when I start my 99 5.4 it idles a little high for about 10-15 seconds then goes down to normal idle rpm's. I've had my truck for about 4 years now, and it's always done that.

this short clonk is only noticeable when the Radio is off and no much noise is around, and the Door is closed (because the chime)
it is also feel-able.
like someone punch softly against the drive shaft, with a 9/16" wrench.

The clonk your hearing is probably the primary tank fuel pump shutting back off when pressure setting is reached.

Found it out.

I was fast enough to turn ignition on and put my Head into the Engine compartment.

The sound comes from the ABS (Brake Anti Lock SYSTEM).
The ABS Pump starts Working shortly.

but i still have no idea if this is normal to hear this.

(i know nearly such a sound from my old 1988 Audi 90 Quattro)

The Rpms are completely normal. The clonk though im unsure of my truck does not do that. Whenever i start up my truc it idles at about 1300-1500 rpms then drops to 800-900 then when put in reverse it goes down to 600 and thats where it should idle.
