I have a 95 4x4 4.9 manual 4 speed od. When I shift to second there is a scratching sound before i put it into gear/or rest my hand on the shifter. The engagement is fine...there is no noise while it is in gear... unless pressure is applied to the shifter..the sound only occurs while moving....I am bothered by this

 

It is the syncro going from first to second, It will not hurt anything but will eventually start getting hard to shift.

 

whats involved in fixing that.....how costly
