Default No power during taking off

I have a 2000 f150 2wd. Started having no power issues all of a sudden. Thought it was the cam tensioners sense they had never been replaced. so I replaced them. old one's were bad. I also upgraded the cam to a comp cam. not very large. still have same issues. have changed fuel injectors, coils, throttle body. tps sensor. there are times when I take off it will burn the tires. other times it will barely move.

Here's your other details, linked below (gDMJoe trigger alert). This sub-forum is more targeted, although it reaches fewer people.

Did it have the EGR code before you changed the parts? Or just the no power problem. There's really not much to go on. An intermittent low power problem. Might be that something is happening during low power that would show up on live data on a scanner. The more details you can give the better. Good luck.

I'm not sure that the PCM will handle an out of spec cam profile without some sort of retune. Your repairs and upgrade might have created new problems. That's how the parts cannon works.

Your best bet is to get some sort of scanner and see what is not happening when you don't have power. 2000 is still a fairly simple engine management system. Fuel, air, spark are still the primary things to look at.

Here's an old video showing a crazy possibility though. Time-stamped to 14:20.

Truck has an aftermarket air intake on it.

I'm offering possibilities. You're going to have to do the work. Your vehicle has been modified with a variety of aftermarket stuff. Take the concept of air flow blockage causing intermittent loss of power and apply it to your situation. Maybe you have a cheap air filter that's collapsing at times. Use your imagination. Maybe there's crud on your MAF sensor. Who knows.

Put the Ford parts back on and see what happens.
