Not to sound dumb but you did look at both fuse box diagrams in the owners manual right? There's one under the dash and one in the engine bay.

Yes I checked both. None of the fuses are bad. There is one socket though that has some melted plastic around it. The fuse in that socket is fine though. I'm assuming something went wrong previously and they changed the fuse. If I knew what that fuse was for though...

Mine looks the same but uses some more fuses. I can take a pic of my fuse diagram or you can tell me which spot you are curious about

Well looking at your pic it looks like fuse 3 is bubbled (the small yellow one in the first colum) and it says it's for the cigarette lighter/data link connector

That is the one that has the melted plastic around it. The fuse is fine. I just double checked it.

Yes that is the same manual that came with the owners manual. Only mine is on fancy paper and bound

After almost three months of looking for some leads on how to fix the system, I'm starting to think I should just remove the tank, cap the lines and at least reclaim that bed space.

Anyone else have any better ideas?
