Default New to the site plus question

Hi, been getting some good info on here, you guys are a great source of info. I have a question, I have an F-150 2001 5.4 with 120,000 miles, I had the plugs replaced at 70,000 and now the #8 in misfiring. With the alum. head I don't want to try it my self, so what should I expect to pay to have all 8 plugs and C.O.P's replaced, dealer and auto shop. thanks for any help and or advice you can share with me

If it's just number 8 that's mis-firing only replace that one not all of them there's no need to spend extra money on stuff that works. It is a bitch to change, i would recommend a trustworthy mechanic because a dealer charges up the ***

I would find a good shop not the dealer, will charge like 3 hours labor at the dealer. I work in an independent, was at dealer 11 yrs. I only charge hour and half for tune up. Can look into an accel coil set from summit, pretty reasonably priced compared to $100 each from the dealer. Use motorcraft spark plugs! I use motorcraft coils but get them cheaper than the dealer, through O'Reilly. Found some aftermarket coils just don't cut it!

with a 120,000 miles I thought it would be best to do them all at once, sounds like they are all going to start failing and it would be cheaper and less time consuming to just get them all
done

Well all the shops I called told me that the C.O.P.'s don't go bad to often to just replace the boots and the plugs so $350. seemed to be the going rate, it was done and on my way, out the door for $345. and change and running great

thanks
