Default New Engine

Just curious where you guys have gone to get a new long block. The mileage is in the high 160K and I figure it's not to early to start looking for a new engine. Thanks..

Also, would you ever buy a reman engine? Or should I look for 100% new only? Thanks.

Genuine Parts Distibutors (GPD), used to be in Los Angelos. Ford authorized rebuilders for accessories and engines. Installed alot of their engines during my time with Ford. 77 thru 91. Am not sure if still have the contract with Ford.

I go to my local Ford dealer because of the 3yr warranty and the prices are equal to the other manufactures. I got this discount notice yesterday for $200.00 off any gas motor yesterday: http://motorcraft.com/powertrain.do

So a new engine from Ford is around $3k also?

I would like to have a warranty on the new engine, so that sounds like the way to go.

Went to the site Torkum suggested, the same dealerships that I dealt with are listed there, must be the new name or contract from Ford. As I said earlier had great success and confidence with them.
