So I have a 99 f150 xlt ex cab with a automatic 4.6. I have over 240, xxx and my tranny was slipping so I bought a used one. me and a buddy tackled the swap seemed that everything was put back how we took it off, but after everything was put back together and I started it, theres a loud grinding noise I cant see any marks from the bottom dust cover on the flywheel. Torque converter studs dont look warn, I can turn the engine with a breaker bar on the front main pulley, sounds good. Maybe someone can give me an idea of what else to check.

 

Positive the torque converter was seated correctly?

Nvm you prolly wouldn't be able to turn the crank then
