Default Need to pick your brains...

1997 F150 with 4x4, 4.6L

Problem area: Transfer Case

I am leaking ATF. I have replaced the slip yoke bushing. I have replaced the seal twice. I have resealed the cone once. It is def. leaking at that area and running down towards the center of the case.

A buddy thinks the slip yoke is shot. Another friend thinks it could be a bearing. Both are mechanics.

What do you guys think? Other than a few drips here and there and a qt of ATF every oil change, it doesn't bother me. Plus, it's free rust proofing.

If you have replaced every seal you can and can just pit up with it cool but that transfer case doesn't hold much don't let it get too low! They aren't cheap !
