i have a 1997 ford f150 4.6 liter and when i go up hill it drives fine but when i get to the top or at a stop sign and stop and sit and idle it wants to die as if its not getting fuel or something also when i go after the light has changed i go to give it gas and it wants to shut down the whole front of my truck shakes and im trying to figure out whats going on...

 

I say start with the litte things maybe switching out fuel filter, checking feul line pressure, changing the plugs. Is it throwing any codes? And do you mean it only does it on hills?

 

after i have got up the hill and to the stop light it will do it when im sitting there and when i take off only once and a while

 

More than likely it's the IAC. The cylinder shaped solenoid bolted to the throttle body. If it'll do it just sitting at your house, try whacking it with a wrench to see if it clears up, if it does you know that's your problem.
