Default need help with LEDs

Im new to all this forum stuff so bare with me but i have some led strips i need to mount under the dash and peferably on foot wells ????

i need to know where to mount is and how to wire the footwell the turn on with the door and have another switch so i can manually turn them on

Check your owners manual and find a fuse that comes on with the desired function. If you want them to come on with the map lights look for one related to that. Buy an add a fuse such as this

most auto parts stores will carry them. Make sure you get the correct size (mini, standard), wire the LEDs to that add a fuse and then test the function to make sure you have them hooked to a fuse that gives you the desired function. Run the wires up underneath the dash over to the fuse box. As for mounting that will depend on the mounting options for the LEDs. There are a few cross members up under the dash that they could be mounted to via screws, zip ties, or double sided 3m tape.

ok and theres one problem i dont know what happened i peeled the tape off the strips and stuck it under there and it shorted out like sparked and everything why did it do that im using these

That sounds like a bad product. Did you cut them to length? Did you in anyway modify it from the way it came? Cheap product may have just been bad?
