Need Help with EGR System
So today I went to discount autoparts and hooked up an odb2 meter to my 97 f150 and I got P0401
Id like to take a look at the part and clean it before I GO SPENDING 72.99 for a new one + labor Im pritty short on cash atm and still have some other repairs I need to do.
Unfortunatly I dont know whare the part is located?
I am experianceing problums when I drive faster say 35 or 40 miles per hr
I'd realy like to try the possible solutions listed manly Solution 2 Because the trucks just been sitting for a wile and I realy think just cleaning it will fix the problum but I dont know where The EGR is?
Can anyone help?

Watch out what you clean it with you don't want to damage the rubber diaphram in the valve. The egr valve is on the drivers side of the throttle body which is on top of your engine. Worked on a 97 that had the code. The throttle body needed cleaning. I just used carberator cleaner. Also make sure your gaskets are new and get sealed well. To clean the egr, us isopropyl alcohol. Just a little bit and let it dry.
