Default Need Help

A little history on my problem, 1- cruise control quit working, 2- the horn quit working, 3-gear selector won't move did manual overide to shift into gear, power windows did not work, found blown fuse fixed the windows and gear select problem, then it blew the fuse again and now I have no dome lights or windshield wipers. Any ideas on where to start? It is a 2002 F150.

TIA
Eric

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think if that switch on the end of the brake master cylinder shorts out it pops a fuse for the horn too. Pull the plug off that switch and look at the wiring harness and see if it looks burnt. That switch being burnt out will not let cruise control work at least. I'd start there. There is a new type of switch and wiring harness out for like $16 at a ford dealership.

I have pictures of it, if you want to see it just let me know, I just fixed that problem on my 2002 f150.

This is where I would start. Did you ever have the recall work done on your truck? Has the switched been replaced already? or did the fuse in the recall harness pop??

Let me know what you find.

This was my leaking switch on the master cylinder:

Burnt wiring harness plug on the switch:

You might take the time to clean all grounding straps. There are five on my '97.
It isn't your specific solution, but I found regrounding all the straps helps lots of pesky electrical problems.
