My 97 f150 4.6 4x4 has recently started sounding like it was camming on start up. When i start it up it sputters kinda like it has a huge cam for about 10- 15 seconds then goes away. Then sometimes when stopped or at a red light with ac on it gets a really rough idle almost like it wants to cut off. Recently changed the cam sensor and no other codes showing. Transmission also seems to shift weird sometimes but may not be related.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. I would check the PCV tube elbows for cracks, very common issue. Hope this helps.

 

Thanks i will check it. Will that cause the transmission issue? And its still throwing a camshaft position sensor code. Thanks greatly for the help.
