Default Need advice on 2001 f150 4.2 intake isolator bolts.

Hey everybody, I'm a new member to the forums but read info on here a lot. Anyway, I have a 2001 f150 with a 4.2 that has the famous lean codes. I know about the isolator bolts, but my question is... (Sorry if its a dumb question) can the factory isolator bolts be reused if I install the Green replacement grommets on them? Thanks in advance.

A few weeks ago I had Code P1518 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Fault Stuck Open. This was caused by 1 of 4 broken plastic doo-hickeys that control the movement of the secondary intake air via movement of the IMRC - undoubtedly, this arrangement is to pass some pollution control requirement when the vehicle was built. I went to the Ford dealer to get the 4 doo-hickeys - which were in stock for like $12.00. The parts guy knew me over the years and said: "Son (I'm 60 years old), do yourself a big favor. Order the entire upper intake manifold, again." Why? The new manifold comes with new seals, bolts, etc. I also ordered the four do-hickeys. Took about three hours (with help from my mechanic brother) to change out the 4 do-hickeys (along with the manifold), but the code is gone and the engine runs smooth. The "old" intake manifold was only two years old and changed because of the lean codes (I think P0171 & P0174). He remembered selling me the upper intake manifold then. I only had an additional 10,000 miles on the truck, but he said change it and be happy. I think he did me a favor - he's been at the dealer forever and doesn't need to sell the parts. My advice: Be happy - change the manifold out. They sell for well under $150.00. Also, change the 4 do-hickeys on the IRMC.
