Ok folks. Was hearing a rattling from the exhaust at idle on my 03 f150 super cab fx4. Gave it a love tap and saw this thing move. It was resting on the exhaust pipe just in front of the muffler. What in the world is it? Its pretty solid. Like a weight would be. Only thing I can even fathom is its some kind do of anti-vibration thing

Honestly that's what I thought too. Like it's from something else.

 

It is a vibration dampener from the exhaust. Comes stock. Seems she rusted off.
