Default My Train Horns

alright guys I finally got my train horns finished up.. heres all that I used...

*Viair 150psi 2gal Air Source Kit
*Dual Trumpet 140db Air Horns
*Viair 160psi black illuminated pressure gauge
*25ft 3/8" air hose
*15ft 1/8" air line
*30ft 10awg wire
*30ft 18awg wire
*40amp relay w/ 30amp fuse
*mini round LED rocker switch
*SPDT on-on round rocker switch
*crimp connectors
*heat shrink tubing
*alot of 1/4" wire loom and electrical tape
*too many air fittings to list

I think Ive got about $320 in the whole kit, and with my air supply I can pump up my tires or do anything with it

Heres what the front of my truck looks like now, while flexing

Close-up of the grill and horns

Heres the 2 switches, top switches between stock horns and air horns, bottom turns the compressor on and off

And heres my air pressure gauge, daytime

I mounted my air kit in my tool box, and it looks like this

Heres what it looks like under the hood, I kept it nice and clean

heres where I mounted to relay, my switch couldnt handle the max draw of the compressor so I added this to be on the safe side

and another close up of the horns, you can see the big air hose going straight down and the little air line going sideways to get back to the cab

heres where I cut the stock horn wire and soldered wires on each side, they connect to the spdt switch along with the pos wire on the horn solenoid to choose between stock or air horns and still blow them using the steering wheel

this is how the horns are mounted, and yes I used loctite

and here they are mounted without the grill

If anyone needs any help with doing your own custom kit let me know and ill help ya out.

Some people wanted me to do a how-to but it took me 3 days after school to get them finished and there was so much to do I would need a bigger memory card in the camera to get everything

yea i am, a horn war erupted today in the parking lot and mine were by far the loudest, I could drown them all out

Ohh and I almost forgot. If you wire them this way and leave it switched to the air horns, then when you hit the panic button they'll blow instead of the stockers. that is if they have air

I would love to have mine go of with my alarm, but not when I lock/ unlock my doors.

I want to hook them up to the aux button on my remote, then I can click it an honk the horn!
