Multiple codes...need help
I have a 01' F-150 4.6L. The other day the engine started sputtering as I drove down the road. It seemed like an issue I had before dealing with a misfire, but I replaced all COPS and spark plugs a couple of months earlier. As I drove a little further the engine just died at about 45 MPH. I put it in Neutral and cranked it right back up and sputtered into an auto parts store to see if there were any codes. I got a P1451 (EVAP Emission Control System) code and after checking for grounds I replaced the canister vent solenoid valve. Took it for a test ride and the symptoms remained and seemed a little worse. Had codes read again and received P1636 Inductive Signature Chip Communication. Checked both PCM fuses and they were good. Attempted to reset PCM by removing (-) battery cable for about 30 mins. Test ride produced the same symptoms. Went and bought a code scanner and read P1299 (Cylinder Head Overtemp Protection, etc). Cleared the code and drove around the neighborhood and got codes P750 (Shift Solenoid "A" Malfunction) and P755 (Shift Solenoid "B" Malfunction). I think I have a short somewhere or a bad PCM, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Codes are clear but truck still idles rough, sputters, and slips while shifting gears. Cleaned MAF, and checked voltage on TPS. The signal voltage seemed correct .(.5-4.5)v. I did not get the 5v reference voltage on the TPS. Used a digital multimeter for the checks. (Not sure if using a digital meter affects these readings).
