Default Multi switch/turn signals etc

2000 4x4 auto 5.4
Thought I had fixed my turn signal not working issue months ago but it started acting up again so I removed the multi switch and found more loose wires. Glued them back in place and now the signals work AGAIN but, now I have that silly DOOR OPEN key out DING DING DING.
Can someone show how to turn it off using forscan? What category is it under?
My year 2000 does not seem to list that many cats.

It's the little switch (one wire) that goes in the key cylinder. It probably didn't get put back in correctly when you reassembled it. Been there, done that.

Don't remember seeing that one. There's the two large connectors that go into the multi switch but a third one??
I'll look again.

He is talking about the little half moon clip with a wire on it that connects to the ignition lock cylinder
Not the two connectors on the multi function switch
However, I think your problem is in the door latch switch
Good luck,
I would use PIDS to tell if each door is closed to make the diagnosis easier
Same with the key in ignition warning, there is s pid for that,
of course it takes a Ford NGS or maybe foreskin can do it if you have the time to research the method

Not possible.

The DOOR AJAR has nothing to do with either the MFS or the ignition switch. It's a problem with the switch (or its circuit) in one of the door latches.

Start by giving each of the latches a high colonic with WD40 and see if you can get them to work. A lot of time, the switches simply get stuck due to the grease hardening.

Went back in and found the LITTLE half moon plastic clip with two little wires and a BRASS clip attached had come apart AGAIN.
I have a short memory, in that I had glued in place the first time around but the glue failed so I glued it again and now everything works fine. All of those wires and harnesses should be replaced with new ones since they have become hard, brittle and no elasticity in the little locking mechanisms which holds everything in place.
Everyday driving causes them to shake loose and tilting the s wheel up and down.
Maybe it will hold this time.
So, bottom line is to make sure the small BRASS piece is touching the side of the ignition switch and your door open ding, ding ding will stop.

I used to have a box of those things.... but I'll be damned if I can find them. I replaced mine because the clip broke on mine too. I kinda figured that's what had happened from my experience.
