To fix the intermittent wipers issue (phantom wiping) does the multifunction switch have to be replaced? Or is there a way to take it apart and fix it or clean it

 

There was a thread some time back on how to make this repair. Worked great for me (98 SCAB) and easy to do. Just take your time on the disassemble and watch what goes where. A search of the forum should find it or maybe another members knows how to find it. Hope it works on your 2000
