muffler size

I'm going to be getting a new muffler put on my f-150 to make it loudfer. but what size inlet and outlet do I need. and what offset.

What year is your truck. 97-03 is 2 1/2" in and out. In and out on opposite corners. If that makes any sence.

did you have to use some sort of pipe extension to make the muffler fit.

any good exhaust shop will throw a performance muffler on your stock pipe for cheap. as long as your pipe is in good shape

Yes i have pics of it in my album with the extension pipe.
