Default Which Motorcraft injector is the correct one?!?!?!?

2001 F150, 5.4 Triton, 147k miles
I need to replace an injector on my truck and was going to use Motorcraft parts. My dilemma is which one to use as two diffent ones (CM5255 and CM5256) are called out on RockAuto, the Motorcraft website, etc. Here's the details.

Injectors on the truck have yellow tops.

The CM5255 injector has a pink top. The description in RockAuto says "GAS; Color: Yellow; Color: Gold". This is also the most common used in a variety of Ford Products.
The CM5256 injector has a green top. The description in RockAuto says "Thunderbolt", whatever that is.

My question is which one is the correct one? I'm betting on CM5255 with the pink top but would appreciate any further information about which one before I screw something up.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

These trucks don't use Motorcraft injectors. They use Bosch 19lb (orange).

I would think you can use the skinny " improved" injectors that came out in 2003 on any of the trucks. That's all my 2003 has ever had. IF... The connector is interchangeable...( Looks like it is to me in photos)

I have no idea what's" improved " about them but they claimed improved.(Maybe cost less)... And they were the last design. They were supplied as a motorcraft part..... And of course they list it for other model years too, not just 2003. They go into the same manifold. Possibly they just changed suppliers at the time

It's been awhile , I think it was the 4 hole Bosch that was suppose to atomize better than the original.

I have the 5 hole skinny's EV6, no problems. Heard the 4 was better for the trucks.

Never noticed a difference or had a problem .

Skinnys here, new/take offs from a 4.6L motor being dismantled at the Romeo plant 2005, installed on the 5four,-

CM5255 is the correct MC injector (mfgr Bosch).
