Default Motor Replacement

Im looking at changing out my 4.6L motor in my 2001 screw in about 50,000 more miles. Can I slide a 5.4L in its place without having to re manufacture the truck, It looks like there is not much difference in the motor, tranny might be interesting have not looked that far yet and I guess If I could drop one in I would have to flash it with 5.4L info if the computer will take it.

Or would it be easier to stick with the 4.6L

There's a good bit of work in swapping a 4.6 for a 5.4 but not too hard. Check out this forum, and it will answer any questions you have.
