More power
My 97 was lacking power and acceleration and was getting about a week to a full tank of gas. I don't know how many times the plugs have been changed but they looked ancient. I changed them and now I'm getting almost two weeks to a full tank and my power was greatly increased.

It is almost not worth spending money on power gains-save up for a truck with a more powerful engine to start with.

I really don't think he wasn't massive amounts of ponies I think he wants what he can get out of a 4.6. A stock 4.6 has like 230 horse I think it is and a 5.4 has 260. Correct me if I'm wrong! But I'm saying you can get power gains easy out of any engine.. And for these trucks you can by exhaust CAI gotts programmer tune up etc

Ya I plan on that once my car is paid off now iv got a 2wd 4.6 regular cab and I plan on upgrading all that at once to a 4x4 5.4 extended cab I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do for now
Well, you could do a Gotts Mod then, change the muffler out to a more free flowing model, pick up a programmer, change the plugs, clean the throttle body and maybe an Efan from a Taurus or something and presto-chango that is about the size of it...
I've done that as well as long tube headers and true duel exhaust and this truck will barely pass itself on the hiway...
