Default Monster tranny

ok guys so i have a 03 screw with a brand new 5.4 and i built it up some well as you know whenever you put performance with stock you have problems and i was wondering what tranny would be a good one i was looking at the mega monster from monster transmissions with a 2300-2500 stall torque converter but ive never heard of monster now i know spike tv has shows that love them and what not but does anybody have any real world experience with these things? are they good, are they crap? just looking for ideas and i would prefer brand new ive had nothing but trouble when rebuilding them

Don't know if you've rebuilt your tranny yet , if not , checkout Hughs Tranmissions they build them to handle 1500hp., I have one in my f350 e4od, awsome transmissions, kinda pricey.

the 01+ 4R70W (75E) was built with better internals, albeit the truck valvebody is a bit different, but thats no biggie. Get a covertor from CircleDspecialties.com they are pretty much made to order, high carbon clutch pack, brazed stator, proper stall, etc...

Also, get the biggest cooler you can find and run a magnafine line filter. A few years back, bulkpart.com was selling Super Duty trans coolers for cheap.

havent rebuilt it yet its still holding up alright it slips in second every once in a while but all thats done to the motor is bored .30, mild comp cams, a crank kit, ported and polished heads lifters push rods valve springs and eagle alloy internals its a good street setup it dynoed at 410 and about 360 at the rear wheels and i know a well built engine is only as good as the tranny it spins and so i want to get a good one without breaking the bank to much haha

im gonna call BS on this one for multiple reasons:

1. Mod motors DO NOT have pushrods.
2. Please list what lifters for a 3V mod motor you are using.
3. Who built the motor?
4. Mahle and Manley are the choice parts for mod motors.
5. What is your current displacement?
6. Overbore and a "crank kit"? interesting.
7. This motor is about a 9k motor and you are worried about "breaking the bank" on a trans? The stuff I listed would cost you under 2500$.
8. Who tuned it? Who built it?

I may be wrong, I may be totally wrong and if I am, I will accept that...but I know who the go to guys for Ford mod motors are, I know what is available, and have taken apart enough mod motors to know whats up.

sorry no push rods i'm getting motors mixed up with the pontiac and lifters i mean rocker arms sorry for mixing things up and the crankshaft was a stock crank that was modified by a performance shop in Houston the motor was built by joeys engines in Houston the heads were reworked there also line bored ported polished valve job the basic stuff the pistons were so scored that they went ahead and bored it out .30 i believe it was as for the specs id have to find all the paperwork and see if its all one there i paid about 5k for all of it i know the guy who owns the shop an i get a lot of parts at cost and i assembled the whole thing myself now spending another 3 or 4 on a tranny is no big deal but i have no need or reason for a tranny that'll hold 1200 hp and cost 10k i mean this motors only gonna put out like 500-600 with a supercharger so if i have a tranny built to hold around 6 ill be golden and i have no desire to rebuild an automatic transmission in my garage its not near clean enough or set up to do it right. now i was looking for a good place to have it done or a good place to order one from not for good parts i know what parts and brands are good parts and no i don't need a lesson on motors or trannys i pretty much have that covered i didn't spend two years in school to not know that stuff

i have a 99 f250 light duty(7 lug) with a new 5.4 thats had some minor work done. mostly for towing. and i used a shop about 2 hours drive from me because all the diesel guys use them and say good things. my trans has billet input and output shafts and billet torque converter also some heavy duty towing clutches as well as a shift kit. its good to 600 hp but my truck only makes a bit over 300 at the rear wheels so should last along time. i think A.T.S. is a good trans shop and i think monster makes a rock solid trans when u look at there parts lists. o and my trans was 5000$ all said and done but was worth every penny the first time i felt it shift a w.o.t.!!! cheers!!
