IS there a way to add heated side mirrors to the 10th gen. Im up here in the PNW and could use them?

 

I would never say never, but that option didn’t exist yet.

My ‘08 SCrew had heated mirrors, but that stuff no doubt tied into the HVAC controls and Smart Junction Box. I wouldn’t even know to start on my ‘03 XL, since no wiring exists for the mirrors.

 

Yes you can add heated mirrors as they were an option on the XLT's and some are wired for it(as mine is), however you must also have the rear window defogger option(I don't have) as well as it runs off the defogger button on the HVAC control panel. I installed a pair and ran my own fused wiring for them, and installed the switch (I used a lighted pushbutton) where the passenger airbag switch would have been. If you go this route, just make sure that you wire it to a circuit that shuts down when the key is off otherwise you could come out to a dead battery.
