Default Manifold Q/A

So,

Of course it is a well known problem with this truck, but i was just trying to get opinions before I went through with the switch out. I was curious....Would it be worth replacing the OEM manifolds with say a pacesetter header? I can purchase for just a few dollars more, but wanted opinions before buying. I replaced my exhaust with a 40 series Flowmaster, unfortunately I did not get the sound I was hoping for....could just be because im still experiencing a leak from my manifolds.

Let me know what you think.

The cast iron stockers will probably last longer than steel-tube headers, but, if the headers don't pose a major installation problem, then go with the them. I don't know if you'll get the sound you want, but it will be slightly different than a stock setup particularly if the headers have equal-length tubes. You may get a bit of midrange power boost as well.....Oh, and DO USE an H-pipe in the installation.
