Default maf sensor question

Hi guys.....im wondering if it would be beneficial to clean my maf sensor. I just got this truck(03 triton 4.6l) 2 weeks ago and the guy i got it from had the air filter assembly ziptied together.....there was a little gap. So i bought the proper clamp and a new air filter and changed it out. The old was extremely dirty as was the oil(like sludge before i changed it). So anyways after reading somewhere on a post on here i should clean the maf sensor as well. When changing the air filter i saw it in the assembly but didnt shine a light on it to see of its dirty(by the shape of the old filter im assuming it is). I bought gunk mass air flow sensor cleaner and wondering if i should clean it and also should i remove it to spray it or leave it installed?

ya wouldn't hurt to clean if the filter was that bad. ya you should take it out to clean it, you don't want all the cleaner getting into the intake and engine with the engine off and shouldn't do it with the truck running since it is a hot wire maf and could cause the cleaner to combust.
