1998 f150 4.2 160k. I recently posted about an issue I had with misfire, bad idle, bucking, and truck shutting off. I replaced a ton of stuff and the issue continued. This weekend I was planning on taking it in to a mechanic. However, I tried one more thing. I disconnected the battery unplugged the MAF sensor, left it unplugged and started the truck up. At first it idled a little bad but then it ran fine. I even drove it around the block a few times. I ordered a new MAF sensor, it should get here in a few days. Do you think this is a sure sign it is the MAF sensor? Also, I always thought a vehicle would not run without a MAF sensor. Any input? thanks.
