Default louder exhaust question

my truck is a 2002 fx4 5.4L and my current setup starts with the stock manifolds then all 4 cats and then into the stock y pipe, single pipe to the middle of the truck then custom y pipe into duals all with 2.5 inch piping and 4 inch tips.

my question is if i want to make it just a little louder but not loud enough to make it a cop attention getter, would replacing the stock y pipe after the cats with a more free flowing y pipe do the trick or wouldnt it change much?

By replacing the stock y pipe do you want to replace both y pipes and run true duals?

How would you have no muffler and a glass pack? A glass pack is a muffler

Run two pipes all the way back with two seperate cherrybomb glass packs and i promise it will be what you want. Get rid of those ****ty y-pipes. Makes a world of difference

My idea was to remove the factory y pipe that is by the cats and replace it with a custom made y pipe that is more free flowing. Ive heard that the y pipe by the cats is very restrictive so i figure i would gain a little sound by upgrading to a less restrictive y pipe.

i have thought about going with duals and ive listened to some samples on youtube and some sound way too loud and raspy and crackling and popping sound. im looking for a deep rumble that is reasonably loud but not loud enough to the point where i have cops being called and on the look out for me

I dont understand how changing out a y-pipe for another is gonna make a difference. The only change your gon a see is if you remove both y-pipes and run true dual

No matter what you do, as long as you have the cats it wont be too loud.

I figured installing a better flowing y pipe after the cats would make some difference in sound kinda like more free flowing shorty headers would do as compared to stock manifolds. I think I will just run duals after the cats with an H pipe cause I hear that ain't as raspy sounding as an x pipe and helps get rid of the popping and cracking sounds of straight pipes. If its too loud for my liking I can always put some mufflers on to quiet it down some
