So I checked the EGR system even though its not throwing codes and all seemed right. Not sure I did it right but like I said learning as I go.

I have someone coming over later to show me how to do vacuum leaks so hopefully we find one and that solves all. Don't think I'm that lucky but hey I am in Colorado Springs where I lived for 12 years so glad I know people lol.

Will report back...

Did you change both of those plugs and still get the misfire?

Have you switched your coil packs around to see if the misfire switched cylinders

make sure your coil pack wires are going to the correct cylinders.

For a 4.6 V8

back of truck
4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

front of truck

Well I got rid of the #7 misfire but 3 and 4 are still there. Coil packs are brand new and correctly wired.

if i can figure out some way to haul it to Reno my dad wants to drop a new motor in it. Which is awesome but I only have $600 to get there and don't see it happening

With that anymore ideas or should I just go with the burnt valve and leave it alone?

Did u find anything out with the vacuum leaks? Check ur Pcv hoses on the passenger side. One should run back to the throttle body. There's a rubber elbow back there. Really hard to get to but I've seen it collapse and crack and cause a leak that made my truck stumble so bad it would barley pull its self.. I got all kinds of miss fire codes. Cyl 1, 3,7 random multiple misfire lol I had like 10 codes. But I was that rubber elbow.

Well I give up. Have tried everything I can think of and everything y'all have suggested so I am just gonna hop in it tomorrow morning and try and make my way to my dads in Reno.

Just did an oil change and it looked alright...no coolant in it.

I'm going north I25 to Cheyenne and over on I80 and hoping I don't get stranded along the way. 15 hours and 1000 miles. Don't know anyone up in those neck of the woods so hope God is on my side.

Thanks for all y'all's help...it's much appreciated.
