Default Loosing compression on #4

I went to dealer to get EGR cleaned and had them replace spark plugs while they were in there. They said that OBD said that I am loosing compression on #4 and there is a misfire. GREAT. The spark plug tip was melted as well which could be the reason for the misfire. But what made the plug melt?

So new plugs in there and the truck runs great. However when it was at idle, the only indication that there is something wrong is the dash lights would dim just for a second every couple of seconds. Then I replaced the EGR pressure sensor and the dimming of the lights went away.

All that to ask, could a bad EGR pressure sensor produce a misfire?
And could it produce a code to read that I am losing compression?

I am really hoping that the whole damn engine doesnt need to be rebuilt here.

Thanks for any help
