My opinion is to just straight pipe it. I did that to my truck by just taking off my muffler and left my cats on because I still have to pass emissions. You get that loud deep throaty sound that's noticeable by everyone.

On my mustang i went with the Cherrybomb Glass packs, but i have Shorty headers, going into a stainless off-road H-pipe, with two cherrybombs and stainless out the back... loud and deep tone:]

Ok I have a 99 ford f150 xlt v8 4.6L long wheel base and I am currently useing a thrust glass pack and it is about in the middle of the bed wel I am wanting to remove the pipe and put it right after the Y pipe would that make the sound louder and sound better but it sounds good but at idle you can barely hear it any tips?

If you still have all your cats just straight pipe it sounds good but gets loud if you remove cats

I have a Cherry Bomb muffler on my truck. It's the SI-DO setup or square muffler as you put it. I went from a stock setup to this, and you could tell a difference in the sound... but its just not the rumble I really wanted.

After I get my shorties on, I'm removing the rear cats and see how that goes.
